Saint Valentine’s Day takes place on February 14th, and despite usually chilly weather, it is a very heartwarming holiday! It is all about love and spending a nice time. And what place could be better to do so than the City of Love?
Even if the tradition is not originally French, it became popular in the 80’s. The most common gift is a bouquet of roses, so you will see all the florists of Paris full of beautiful flowers. Remember as well that this day is dedicated to all types of admiration, so you can also spend it with your friends and family! In Finland or Guatemala February 14th is called ‘Friend’s Day’, and it celebrates both romantic and platonic love.

You will have plenty of choices, including home-made foie gras, smoked salmon with ginger and lemon, fish, sea food or beef meet for main dish, and panna cotta or vanilla millefeuille…. This French restaurant makes sure to base its menu on fresh ingredients, especially seasonal spices. For all the lovers that wish to reserve on February 14th, they offer a scallop tartar with avocado and candied tomatoes, followed by wok dish of shrimps and chicken breast with ginger and coriander. A cozy and intimate place, ideal for a quiet date…. On Valentine’s Day they propose you to start with foie gras, followed by salmon tartar with artichoke heart or scampi cream with saffron and tapioca. For main dish you can choose between Saint-Pierre filet with sweet spices and lemon or beef with cherry ginger sauce and fresh vegetables. For a dessert it is either chocolate fondant with rose sorbet or panna cotta.
This famous and charming spot next to Odéon station, located in a romantic side-way pass, prepared a special menu for 110€/person: first eggs with truffles, two appetizers of salmon in grapefruit sauce and chestnuts in coconut milk, truffles and foie gras, and two main dishes per person: delicate bass fish followed by lamb filet. To finish, there is also a delicious dessert! A great way to try some of the best French kitchen delicacies.
This warm and inviting restaurant hidden in the small street between famous rue de Buci and busy boulevard Saint-Germain so far did not announce a Valentine’s Day specials, but from our experience their dishes are always excellent! You will be welcomed by Gerald, who has never been seen in a bad mood, and you can trust us that you will spend an amazing evening here!

Another great idea for a romantic day in Paris is seeing an exhibition in the Orsay Museum. Located in the magnificent old train station, its display of impressionism masterpieces is the biggest in the world! It is one of the most romantic places to see, with sensual art of the end of XIX century that sweep you off your feet!
