Everybody knows Paris as the capital of fashion, but if you suddenly start seeing even more people wearing designer pieces on the streets – you may be sure that Fashion Week is behind the corner! Awaited for with impatience each year, it changes central Paris into a big catwalk. This year this unique event starts early on January 18th with Male Fashion shows for Autumn/Winter 2017/2018 season. They will last until January 22nd. Next the biggest fashion artists will present their most breathtaking creations of Haute Couture for Spring/Summer 2017 from January 22nd to January 26th 2017! Finally, at the end of February we will find out what we may actually be seeing in the shops next autumn – Prêt-à-Porter collections will be shown to the public from February 28th to March 8th.
FASHION WEEK HOMME: from January 18th 2017 to January 22nd 2017
With the fashion week starting for the men’s collection, some most famous designer will show their creations during this time: Balenciaga, Valentino, Issey Miyake, Dries Van Noten, Givenchy, Maison Margiela, Dior, Hermès… You don’t have to be a dandy to be interested – Both classical elegance and modern trends will be represented! And right after the last show on Sunday, we will smoothly move to present the most beautiful creations of the hand-made women’s fashion:
HAUTE COUTURE: from January 22nd 2017 to January 26th 2017
Protected by law in France from 1945, the ‘haute couture’ label can only be used by chosen designers that has proved their skills and talent. Hand-made pieces of the highest quality, done with the most sophisticated techniques, will be presented on the Parisian runways. Later they will be seen during biggest galas and events of the world, and in the museums of fashion and art. With collections of Schiaparelli, Chanel, Dior, Elie Saab or Valentino, this experience is like going to an art show…
PRET-A-PORTER: from February 28th 2017 to March 8th 2017
This season fashion shows will finish with the ready-to-wear collections. Everybody is waiting to see what we will be wearing in the upcoming seasons. We will see what inspired the designers only at the end of February, when numerous collections will be shown, from the biggest names in the industry, to the younger generations of designers. What will be in next winter? We can’t wait to know!
